It is not read by the ECU. It branches from the balance tube straight to the sensor. Removing the boost sensor, assuming you properly capped off the connections, should have no affect on your ability to boost. Removing your boost solenoids only prevents the ECU from putting you in safety boost. The stock wastegate actuators open at 6-7PSI. If you remove the boost solenoids and any boost jets, you will be boosting at 6-7PSI. You can add boost jets (near the intake piping), to trick the actuators by allowing them to less pressure by restricting the air. If you need boost jets for going to ~14PSI, or the stock ones used with the boost solenoids, I can sell them to you for cheap.
